Counseling for Success
About Kiomi

With compassion, knowledge, and skill, I can help you reach your goals.

I provide counseling and hypnotherapy to individuals and couples throughout the greater Seattle, King County area.

Success Counseling consists of identifying your strengths and increasing self-confidence. Whether you are trying to lose weight, increase performance, or overcome anxiety or depression, you will reach your goals much faster by focusing on your strengths rather than your weaknesses.

I believe you already have everything you need to be happy, successful and well.   Together, we will renew your inner strength and increase your ability to handle challenges, so you can achieve the level of success and happiness you deserve.

As a behavioral specialist I can help you increase and maintain motivation, make healthy lifestyle changes, improve performance and foster habits of highly effective people.

About 90% of our behaviors are habitual.  We are creatures of habit and feel comfortable with our familar routines.  But many of these habits and routines prevent us from reaching our full potential.

I help people transform limiting, self-defeating, habitual thoughts and behaviors into positive, empowering thoughts and behaviors.

My training consists of clinical as well as research experience conducted at the University of Washington, including over ten years experience supporting people's personal development, healing and growth.

I have advanced certification as a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work which recognizes that I have met nationally established standards for knowledge, skills, and experience.

Professional Memberships

National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world.  The NASW enhances the professional growth and development of its members, and creates and maintains professional standards.

American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) requires all members to be licensed in the state in which they practice and be a member of a professional society consistent with their degree.  Several other associations simply require a fee and anyone can join regardless of their experience, training or credentials.  ASCH has rigorous requirements for eligibility and membership.

Professional Experience

I have worked in the social service and mental health field for over a decade, and have provided counseling services to people of various ages - children, adolescents, adults and senior citizens.

I have also contributed to several research projects at the University of Washington related to quality of life issues, pain management, and disabilities.  It is a pleasure and a privilege to work with people from diverse backgrounds and varied age spans.

Mental Health Philosophy

Health is more than the absence of illness. Health is a sense of vitality, passion and purpose.

Healing is an art and science based in sound scientific research and education, as well as intuitive guidance.

Professional education is essential. Life long learning is a passion and I make it a part of my personal and professional practice.

The human spirit perseveres. People have a remarkable ability to overcome and survive life's challenges.

The healer must heal thyself.  I practice what I teach.
